Minimising compliance risks and promoting integrity

Date : 15/12/2017

Best practices allowing SMEs to secure and grow their position on the market

While legislation and regulatory requirements applying to SMEs are no different from those applicable to large multinationals, SMEs generally have limited resources to meet the compliance challenge. Nevertheless, investing in compliance and integrity may have a big impact on the bottom line.
It reduces liability risks and sends a strong signal to potential business partners across borders. By speaking a similar language, compliance programmes can help establishing credibility and building relationships with ‘big players' and a sustainable and solid position in the market.

In partnership with Anheuser-Busch InBev and law firm Stibbe, Transparency International Belgium has developed a programme for Belgian export-driven SMEs to share experiences and build capabilities related to risk analysis, risk management and acting with integrity. The approach is evidence-based with reference to a number of situations, activities and transactions which are vulnerable to corruption.

It is with great pleasure that we invite you for the launch of this programme on the 15th of December from 16.00-19.00 hrs.

During a 2-hour interactive workshop, experts from AB InBev, Stibbe and TI-Belgium will moderate a session based on actual compliance cases that have shaped our approach to ethical and legal dilemmas. The workshop ends with a Q&A session, followed by a networking drink and a toast to celebrate the international Anti-Corruption day of 2017.
This event is particularly interesting if you represent an export-driven SME and are in charge of compliance or if you are building a compliance programme in your company.
